Position Summary:
The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the companies’ systems databases. The DBA provides technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems that support business applications. Additional responsibilities include reporting, data input and output and technology management. This position works in a two-person department, supporting two businesses and 300+ employees.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with the ability to work night and weekend hours on demand and for scheduled maintenance.
Pay Rate: $58,500/year Salary Exempt

Success Factors:
- Maintains greater than 99.5% uptime on servers
- Keeps data secure internally and externally
- Makes required information available to employees and managers
- Maintains current risk mitigation programs for servers and server software
Responsibilities:
- Configure database servers.
- Monitor and maintain system health and security.
- Design backup processes for server and associated data.
- Create accounts for all users and assign security levels.
- Install server software, install and maintain hardware, run wire, support other systems as needed.
- Establish a disaster recovery protocol.
- Provide end-to-end technical support, training and problem resolution.
- Schedule and perform regular server maintenance.
- Create database management procedures.
- Support database functions by designing and coding utilities.
- Evaluate data analysis models and procedures.
- Participate in company's cross-training program.
- Maintain physical equipment and infrastructure and other related tasks.
- Perform other duties within IT Department as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- 2+ years' professional experience or internship
- Advanced knowledge of database structure and theory
- Experience with MySQL and MSSQL
- Experience with Windows, VMWare and Linux
- Basic understanding of disaster recovery and database backup procedures
- Familiarity with reporting tools
- PostgreSQL certification preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance
