Description

Position Summary

Responsible for performing all inspection tasks in a timely and efficient manner to ensure materials, parts, sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and installations are built to requirements.
 

  • Shift: Day, possibly swing if needed.
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM Start, 40hr week
  • Rate: $12.50/hr start, price negotiable depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for receiving, in-process and final inspection of parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and devices
  • Responsible for evaluating the receipt of materials to confirm material test reports meet specification requirements
  • Sets-up and performs physical inspection of product using mechanical or electrical instruments for inspection
  • Performs dimensional inspection layouts using height gages, calipers and micrometers
  • Working knowledge and adherence to AS9100 requirements
  • Performs inspections using surface roughness and profile measurement equipment
  • Performs inspection duties utilizing engineering drawings and work orders, inspection plans, technical specifications, QA procedures and instructions and other related documents
  • Reads and interprets complicated blueprints and specifications, including customer and vendor specifications. Evaluates and documents results
  • Provide feedback to engineering, manufacturing and suppliers as required
  • Basic understanding of lean and 5s initiatives

Knowledge, Skills & Requirements

  • Basic understanding of Composite materials
  • Basic understanding of Dimensioning
  • Acquire a basic understanding of AS9100, Nadcap, and customer regulatory requirements
  • Technical reading comprehension
  • Proficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel)
  • Good communication skills (i.e. reading, writing, and verbal communication)
  • Strong analytical, organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Capability of using calipers, micrometers, ring/pin gages, etc.
  • Required to pass documented color and near vision exam
  • Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation, and color vision.
  • Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 30 lbs.
  • Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Work in or near industrial hazards.
