Description

Position Summary:

The manufacturing engineer position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.


Shift: Day

Schedule: This is a full-time position. Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm, 45 hours per week expectation with additional hours as needed.

Rate: Salary Based Upon Experience

Responsibilities:

  • Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.
  • Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
  • Prepares and presents plans for the above and coordinate deployment including training of team members.
  • Assists Manufacturing Operations Director in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.
  • Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
  • Designs, develops, tests, sources, and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
  • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment as needed.
  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
  • Support on different shifts for specific projects will be required as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or related field.
  • Computer assisted design proficiency in: CAD, AutoCAD, CATIA and Solidworks.
  • Minimum 3 years related manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Theory of Constraints.
  • Experience managing projects using lean manufacturing and six sigma tools and techniques.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to keep multiple project moving forward.
  • Demonstrated project management skills including ability to keep multiple project moving forward simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and without supervision.
  • Demonstrated flexibility when managing through competing projects and priorities.
  • Mastercam experience preferred.
  • Spreadsheet software (Excel).
  • Presentation software (PowerPoint).
