Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in composite materials to develop and implement efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes that meet product specifications and uphold quality standards. This role involves recommending and executing improvements to production methods and controls to optimize overall operations.

Shift: Day

Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, with an expectation of 45 hours per week and additional hours as necessary.

Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Relocation: Assistance available for candidates willing to relocate to Utah.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead process improvement initiatives, resolve production issues, manage projects, and conduct employee training.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes to reduce costs, enhance quality, and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare and present implementation plans, coordinating deployment and training of team members.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Operations Director in enhancing systems for production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and training.
  • Represent the manufacturing department on cross-functional teams.
  • Design, develop, test, source, and justify tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
  • Maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate the launch of new or revised products, setting goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
  • Analyze products and processes for cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased efficiency.
  • Provide support on different shifts for specific projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as CAD, AutoCAD, CATIA, and SolidWorks.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, with specific experience in composite materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of the Theory of Constraints.
  • Experience managing projects using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in managing competing projects and priorities.
  • Experience with Mastercam is preferred.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel) and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint).
