Position Summary
The Quality Engineer I (QE-I) will support the Quality Department in ensuring compliance across all phases of product development and manufacturing. This position plays a critical role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining high standards of quality, and interfacing with internal teams and external customers to ensure contract and product requirements are consistently met.
Responsibilities

Program and operate inspection equipment including Romer Arm (PolyWorks), CMMs, and Faro Laser Tracker (VeriSurf)

Develop AS9102-compliant First Article Inspection reports, including key characteristic data

Communicate with customers regarding quality concerns and corrective actions

Lead and participate in Kaizen events and problem-solving initiatives

Monitor, report, and improve upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to quality
-
Manage non-conformance processes and corrective/preventive action systems
-
Provide quality assurance support throughout all stages of the product lifecycle—from proposal through production and post-delivery

Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with standards including AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP
-
Support and participate in DFMEA and PFMEA efforts to identify and mitigate product and process risks

Analyze statistical data to support continuous improvement and root cause analysis

Provide guidance to quality inspectors and other team members on inspection and testing procedures
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

Strong understanding of GD&T, with the ability to teach others
-
Hands-on experience with CMMs, Laser Trackers, Faro/Romer Arms, and PolyWorks software
-
Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP), and experience with implementation

Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies; formal training or certification is a plus

Strong communication and organizational skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

U.S. Citizenship required; may be required to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
